SBCF Wig Library opened at RPA Hospital in July 2009. Sydney Cancer Centre patients who have lost their hair can now access Wig Packs, including wig, under-cap, wig stand, comb, wig shampoo and anti-static spray, at no cost, assisted by trained beauticians and wig fitters.
In-patient Welcome Packs are provided to in-patients on arrival to the ward for breast surgery at RPA and Concord Hospitals. Surgery is most often unilateral or bilateral mastectomy, or lumpectomy operations. The packs are a very special treat for patients and include a range of personal items including loose-fitting white shirt, hand towel, soap, lotions, shampoo, sleep eye mask, diary, pen and special carry bag.
Chemotherapy Packs are provided to breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment at RPA and Concord Hospitals. The pack includes a digital thermometer (to monitor temperature for signs of fever resulting from the treatment), notebook, pen, anti nausea peppermint tea and special carry bag.
